Lancome's Bi-facil Eye Makeup Remover

{Scroll down for Spanish version}

Hi guys! Today I have a review of a very popular product: Lancome’s Bi-facil, this is a double action eye makeup remover.

Let’s see the claims of the brand:

This award-winning phenomenon gently whisks away all types of eye makeup, even waterproof. Simply shake to activate the bi-phase formula that leaves the eye area perfectly clean. The lipid phase lifts off eye makeup, while the water phase contains special emollients to refresh and condition skin without a greasy residue.

Lifts off all types of eye makeup, even waterproof mascara, while conditioning the skin. Leaves eyes feeling cool and refreshed, with no oily residue. No wonder there’s a cult following.

OPHTHALMOLOGIST -TESTED FOR SAFETY
Ideal for sensitive skin and contact lens wearers.
Lifts off all types of eye makeup, even waterproof mascara

Well, it basically says it will remove every kind of eye makeup you have and it does! As th brand explains you just have to shake this very well and put some of the product on a cotton pad, gently use it on your lids and ta-da! All done.
It cleans waterproof mascara too, as the brand says, and its really easy to do it.

This says that won’t leave any greasy residue but it does, you have to do your regular routine like washing your face or use a micellar water, whatever you do and that’s all. It does refresh your skin.

I have use this for some time, as you can see in my picture, this is a travel size, the large version is soo expensive haha, that’s the only downside I see from this, the price. Some people says that the Neutrogena oil-free eye makeup remover is a dupe, but it’s not, I have tried that and it’s not the same, it doesn’t remove makeup as easy as the Lancome one does.

If you want a good affordable option I would say the coconut oil is great, it does the same job as this, you should try it, but if your eyes are super sensitive then I would recommend this, is really great and I will repurchase this if I have the money haha.

Have you tried this? What did you think?

Hola!

Sunscreen: Do I really need it?

3:25 p.m.

{Keep scrolling to see Spanish version}

Hi guys! Today I’m writing a post about sunscreen, which is a really important part of our beauty routine, or is it? The answer to the question of the title of this post is: YES!

But, why do I need it?
UV light can severely damage the skin and cause premature aging, visible wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, uneven pigmentation, etc.

The most important: UV radiation increases the risk for benign, premalignant and malignant neoplasms on the face, neck, hands and other areas of the body chronically exposed to the sun.

So, sun protection and sunscreens are key to skin cancer prevention (I have a similar post here)

And, what is a sunscreen?
They are creams to protect the skin, they should be water, resistant, hypoallergenic, photostable and should not penetrate the skin (the food and drug administration regulates this in the USA)
Probably you have seen in your sunscreen that it has the words “broad spectrum” this means it will protect you from UVB and UVA.

Sunscreens labels can be confusing, what is SPF? Sunburn protection factor, always accompanied by some number, SPF15, 30, 40, 50. Is a measure of how much solar energy (UV radiation) is required to produce sunburn on protected skin (i.e., in the presence of sunscreen) relative to the amount of solar energy required to produce sunburn on unprotected skin. As the SPF value increases, sunburn protection increases.

The FDA doesn’t support that any sunscreen less than SPF 15 can help prevent skin cancer, it also states that there is no evidence to support any increased efficacy in a product with SPF greater than 50. So, think twice if you want to buy some SPF100 or something like that.

Apply your sunscreen 15 minutes before going out and keep re-applying it every two hours.
Also; wear sunglasses and hats!

Hope you found this useful, if you want to know more about sunscreens I could write another post because this is like a big picture but there some other things important about them.

Always go to a dermatologist if you have some changes in your skin, they’re the experts.
Let me know your favorite sunscreen in the comments! Mine is the Tizo3, I highly recommend it.

¡Hola!

Clinique: Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

4:23 p.m.

{scroll down for spanish version}

Hi guys! Today’s review is about Clinique’s Dramatically different moisturizer, do you want to know what is this and if it worked? Continue reading!
So, I’ve been using this for years, it is my favorite moisturizer, I use the gel version ‘cause I have combo skin, there is a lotion and a cream version too, this way you can choose or see what suits best your type of skin.

Gel:
Lightweight, oil-free hydration.
Best for oilier skins, or use as your light summer moisturizer.
Dermatologist-developed formula combines oil-free hydration with skin-strengthening ingredients.

Your daily moisturizer helps skin look younger, longer.

Lotion:
Silky, penetrating formula.
Best for dry to dry/ combination skins.
Cream:
Rich, luxurious formula.
Best for drier skins or skins in dry climates/ high elevations.

This doesn’t promise a lot of things, just hydration, and it does an incredible job, as I said, I have combo skin and this doesn’t make me look greasy, it absorbs into skin really fast and leaving it without a tacky feeling, this also won’t break your skin because it is non comedogenic, which means it won’t clogged your pores.
My face was going into a dry time because I was using isotretinoin (acne medication) so I had awful dry patches and this worked great.
So, it just depends on what your skin needs that way you can choose your right type of formula.
It retails for 27 dollars but you get 127 ml, I think this is a good deal, this lasts to me for more than 6 months even though I use it every day, twice a day.
I will repurchase this until I find something better.
Have you tried this? What did you think?

Hola!

Bioderma vs Garnier: Micellar Water

7:45 p.m.

{spanish version below}

Hi guys! Today I have a battle of micellar waters: Bioderma vs Garnier, which is the best?

This is what Bioderma’s Sensibio micellar water claims:
·         Combines performance and very high tolerance
·         Cleanses and removes make-up from the face and eyes
·         Soothes and clears up irritated skin
·         Produces a feeling of instant freshness
·         Non-rinse
·         Even removes water-resistant make-up
·         Fragrance-free formula
·         Alcohol-free
·         Paraben-free
·         Hypoallergenic

And this is what Garnier says
This All-in-1 cleanser is surprisingly powerful yet gentle to skin. It is specially formulated to effectively cleanse, remove makeup, and refresh skin. Like a magnet, micelles capture and lift away dirt, oil and makeup without harsh rubbing, leaving skin perfectly clean, and refreshed without over-drying.

What I think: you can find a full review about Sensibio micellar water here, but I love this product but the drawback I find is that it’s expensive, of course you’re getting 500ml on a bottler and for me it lasts about 5 months, the garnier has 400 ml and its waaay cheaper than the Bioderma’s and even though it has 100ml less I’ve been using it the same amount of time (they both last around 5 months)

Both brands practically claim the same, and they both do the same, neither of them removes water proof makeup, or at least for me, they didn’t.

The difference: besides amount of product and of course the price, I found that I used less product with the Bioderma, at the end, both lasted the same months, but I think the Bioderma one does a better job, for example I used one cotton pad with Bioderma’s water and I used two with the Garnier’s, but as I said they practically removed makeup the same way.

Neither of this micellar water had irritated or dried out my skin, so, they’re perfect for sensitive skin just as they claim.

Which will I buy again? I think I will repurchase the Garnier’s one because is super affordable, but if you don’t mind expending money then I would recommend Bioderma.
What are your thoughts? Have you used them both?
